Welcome to the world of Mini-Mozart!
The Lancashire Sinfonietta’s Mini-Mozart Concerts are a lighthearted introduction to the world of music for tiny ears – a fun place where babies and parents/carers can share the joy of music together.
• Concert Series in Lancashire Children's Centres
• 45 minute interactive workshop
• Live String Quartet
• Musicians use action songs, lullabies and rhymes woven through the story of the Four Seasons to explain the early and life-long benefits of music-making.
• Visual, aural & tactile stimuli for the babies bring the music to life.
• Final Cool-Down provides a chance for questions and to see the instruments up close.
• FREE CD and booklet for every baby so the music can continue at home.
• In association with Sure Start Early Years & Childcare Service
The Mozart Effect
First discovered in 1993, psychologists found that playing Mozart to their subjects increased their spatial-temporal reasoning. Today Mozart's music is used in a variety of non-musical applications from healing clinics to the classroom.
Early musical stimulation is said to have benefits for infants pre-natally and within the first months of life. During the first three years, Babies who are held, talked to, sung to and exposed to music and stories form stronger neural connections in their brains, making them more able to handle higher-level thinking skills later in life.
There is evidence that very young children’s exposure to song and other types of music may help increase their vocabulary, achieve perfect pitch and, most importantly, nurture a closer relationship to their parents.
