This is just a quick reminder about this weekend's concert at Lancaster Cathedral.

The Sinfonietta String Quartet are giving a perfumed performance on the opening day of the St.Peter's Cathedral's Flower Festival, to celebrate the Cathedral's 150th anniversary.

The whole Cathedral will be bursting with floral displays donated by over 20 regional flower clubs and professional florists. Thousands of visitors came to the last Flower Festival in 1996 and this year is expected to be even more popular.

The Quartet have taken up the theme to create 'Waltz of the Flowers', a florally inspired programme including works by Elgar, Puccini and Delibes. The evening will take the form of a Promenade concert so that the listeners are free to relax and enjoy the music and floral displays around the Cathedral. Tickets are available on the door.
