Lancashire's orchestral champions are celebrating two great composers anniversaries this weekend - Haydn & Handel.
We have assembled an astonishing line up for these concerts, including Fylde opera star Jean Rigby, Californian Soprano Elizabeth Weisberg and the Manchester Chamber Choir, directed by the enigmatic Andrew Watkinson.
At the heart of the concerts is Haydn's Nelson Mass - which opens with a devastatingly powerful Kyrie, followed by some of the most beautiful music ever written.
Listen in itunes - Kyrie from the Nelson Mass
Listen in itunes - Dixit Dominus
Listen in itunes - Symphony No.104 'London'
The Sinfonietta is sponsoring free tickets for young people for these concerts. Students under 25 can register for a pair of free tickets by quoting their school's name/ student card number to the Box Office - 01257 516444.
NB Tickets are limited and must be requested before 4pm Friday 23rd.
This is a rare opportunity to sample the best of classical music on your doorstep and Lancashire continues to attract world-class talent.
Do keep in touch - we love hearing from you! and I look forward to seeing you at one of our concerts very soon.
