| CONCERT LISTINGS: 12 & 13 October 2007 |
Lancashire Sinfonietta
Director – Lyn Fletcher
The magical sound of our string section is celebrated in this strings-only evening: "Sinfonietta Strings"
Lyn Fletcher, Leader of the Hallé, directs a melodic feast of works; the northern sounds of Grieg & Sibelius blend with the romantic soul of Central Europe expressed by Dvorak and his son-in-law, Josef Suk, whose Serenade is among the most loved works in the string repertoire. The evening also features a Sinfonia by the dynamic young Mendelssohn.
The Sinfonietta, as always, is proud to bring some of the UKs most talented musicians back to their communities to perform in these intimate and friendly concerts.
