Northern Chamber Orchestra

The Northern Chamber Orchestra was formed in the 1960s and has gained a formidable reputation from its engaging and exciting concerts, tackling a wide range of repertoire from Corelli to Stravinsky and beyond. The members of the orchestra are distinguished chamber musicians who play as principals with other orchestras and regularly appear as soloists.

Orchestra of Opera North

The Orchestra of Opera North is highly acclaimed. The Orchestra is the only ensemble in the country to have a year-round dual role in the opera house and concert hall. The Orchestra fill a vital role in concert series' in the Yorkshire region. They are the resident ensemble at the Kirklees Concert Season, in Huddersfield and Dewsbury, and play regularly for Leeds International Concert Season. They frequently make appearances with international guest conductors and soloists. As well as playing in the pit for each Opera North season.

Psappha

Psappha, Manchester's new music ensemble and one of the UK's top contemporary music groups, was formed in 1991 by its Artistic Director Tim Williams and specialises in the performance of music by living composers and that of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra

As well as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Liverpool Philharmonic includes a choir, contemporary music group Ensemble 10:10, chamber music, youth orchestra and youth choirs, and an extensive education programme. It also runs the Grade 2 listed Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, one of the UK’s premier arts and entertainment venues, presenting a wide-ranging programme featuring many international artists.

The Hallé

The Hallé is Britain's longest-established permanent professional symphony orchestra, founded in Manchester by Sir Charles Hallé in 1858. The Hallé has been performing classical music in Manchester, around Britain and abroad for more than 150 years. The Hallé's Music Director is Sir Mark Elder CBE.
